10 Simple Things That Turn Me On

Have you experienced a moment where a man/woman, stranger or a friend, did just a simple thing and suddenly everything turned into slow motion coz he/she swept you off your feet? Well, that happens when you find a certain quality/thing that you look for in a woman/man... whether it be cute or weird. We sometimes wonder how come stuff like that can make our eyes glued on them.

I am not really prepared for this. I mean, these things are not actually stuck in my head that I can instantly type everything. There are only few of them but as I continue listing things, ideas surely pop up in my mind.

I don't talk about my ideal boyfriend here, alright? Neither do I blog this to find a beau nor tell someone else to do this stuff for me. I just wanna share this with you. So here is my list (in no particular order):

1.) Mr. Bad Boy w/ a twist - I don't refer to a jerk, ok?! I like a guy with a bad boy look, but deep down, there is a heart as soft as a marshmallow. :) My head turns twice on a guy like this, but not the pierced and/or tattooed one. Neither an emo who seeems to be in need of shower. You know, someone who looks confident and cool with those "angas" moves without being obnoxious.

2.) "Let me help you" - Who wouldn't get turned on by a gentleman? I admire a man who opens the door/car door for me, offers his seat, carries my shopping bags, or guides me when I go down stair. And I would love it more if he doesn't just do this to me, but to every girl.

3.) The AXE effect - Axe is a brand of grooming products for men. There are deodorant, shower gel, body spray, and some hair products. I don't advertise. I'm talking about good personal hygiene which is necessary. This doesn't mean that a guy has to use this product. Lolz! When a guy passes before me and notice he is pleasant-smelling, I get stunned. I feel like going towards him and ask what perfume he uses. Haha. One more thing, who wants to sit beside a stinking person? (omit beggars and indigent) "Clean nails" is a must as well. I hate seeing those nails with some dirt inserted.

4.) Smarty & Witty -  I love to talk to a person who can give me new ideas and/or learning and cracks jokes at the same time. Sense of humor! =D There would be no boring moments when you are with this kind of person. If you are fun to talk to and can make me laugh, let's hang out sometime with my Super Best Friends! Haha...

5.) Yes, I'm the boss! - One time, I asked a not-so-close-guy-friend some favor and he answered "Anything! You're the boss!". He said it well-timed and not in a sarcastic way. I don't know why, but I find it cute, especially if someone says it with a smile. =) And the phrase "Sige! Ikaw pa, malakas ka sa akin e!" as well. =P

6.) Sweet Popsicle - Oh the name is funny, you say? I know! Haha... But you would get its meaning after you read this:  I appreciate every guy I see on the street/mall holding stuffed toy and a bouquet of flowers. It's prolly a gift for his girl (mom, girlfriend, e.g.). A stranger he is and gifts are not for me, but what makes me admire him is the effort/sweetness. =) I remember when it was Valentine's day this year. While driving myself home, I saw many lads bringing bouquet of flowers. It made me say "awww...". Haha! My heart was melting during the whole road trip.

7.) Faggot Wannabe / Bekimon - "Betsing ko iteng byolang gets ang mga anik-anik na sinasabi kech." It's fun to hear a guy saying some gay lingo words or see him turn into a bekimon (gay) for a while. There is one, whom I always talk to, uses "carrybells" (it's fine) & "wititit" (no/none) on our convo and it tickles me! Haha...

8.) Frankenstein - I stand at a height of 5'6" (not so tall I know, that's why I want to grow taller like Amazon =D) and the average height of Filipino male is 5'4". Hence, I am captivated by a guy who has a towering height, like... Haha... Philippines' very own Frankenstein (forget about his mature looks). Or perhaps someone who's taller than me. =)

9.) House Husband- A typical man goes to school/work, hits the gym, and spends his day with gadgets (iPad, laptop, console game, e.g.), but you cannot see him in the sink washing dishes, nor see him holding a broom. I definitely don't have an eye for the typical one. I want someone who knows how to do household chores, especially cooking. I may say, the way to my heart is through my tummy. Haha... Noodles or boiled egg would do. =D

10.) Teach Me How to Dougie- Unreasonable it is! Haha... I dunno why whenever a guy (young or old, fat or thin) does the dougie dance, it makes me smile. He doesn't have to be a great dancer. Just perform the Cali Swag District's moves and you complete my day! =)

Done! Some are kinda weird, right? Haha. However this doesn't mean that every time I encounter a sweet-smelling man, I like him automatically. What if I am with a bunch of  sweet-smelling bachelors? So I like them all?! Haha... Sometimes 2 or more things from the list have to be together to catch a girl's attention. And after all, it is up to a man's confidence and how he carries himself.


This makes no sense to anyone, but it does for me. I'm sure, every girl who reads this has her own list as well. C'mon! Share yours! =)

I hate this feeling...

I started blogging this at exactly 12:09 a.m.

Beforehand, I checked the calendar. It was already May 21, 2011. That means I only have 16 days left to stay in Riyadh. I felt sad, of course. I'll get back to the Philippines and will be away from my family again. Plus, school starts soon. Being away from them increases college stress and pressure. Homesickness kills me!

I was updating my facebook page when suddenly I received a notification. Rhian tagged me in his post that says Jeric, our bestfriend, flew in from Japan. I was so glad to hear the news that vanished my sadness for a while. I was like "Finally, SUPER FRIENDS will be together".

After few minutes, Rhian sent a group message informing us that his visa for Canada is in his hands already. He will fly to Canada to be with her mom by end of June. I felt like a sack of rice dropped on me. Seriously!

And now, I really feel so sad. I'm happy for my friend for he will be with her mom soon after waiting for some years. He is going to stay there and we will just see him after 4-5 years or 'til he becomes a Canadian citizen. But the thing is, he is one of the few people in the Philippines who really makes me happy while I'm not with my family. Unfortunately, he will leave...

Jeric does the same thing as Rhian does. Thus, I'm gonna feel sad too when he leaves, but he takes a vacation in the country every year and Japan is near. So, it is not that heavy for me.

After 16 days, I'm going to return to the Philippines. But while being away from my family, I will make sure that I have college diploma in my hands when I see them again. =) And about my super friends? I'll spend the whole month of June with them. Distance has nothing to do with our friendship and closeness. =)

Has fame gone to Justin Bieber's head?!

This video has gone viral on Youtube. The description actually says it all.

This Canadian boy, Justin Bieber, had his concert in Manila. Prior to that, everyone was so excited to see him perform in our country. Some waited for him at the airport, holding those big posters and big pictures of this artist. Filipino big stars and commoners went to the concert. Everyone went gaga over him, screamed his name like there's no tomorrow.

There was a report about him being sick during the show. However, he still appeared on stage even for an hour. I admire him for doing that. =) And I absolutely understand why he did not attend the afterparty. Sick boy needs a rest, of course.

The next day, news about JB's impertinence came out. He didn't entertain media people and fans, did not show up on the party, and the like. At first, I wasn't buying any of that. He is famous and normally some people look for and show disapproval towards him. I was like "Oh c'mon! He got a chest infection." But when I saw the video on youtube, I freaked out. OMG! The singer whom I had a big crush on behaved that way?!

Justin Bieber is talented and good-looking. Thus, there is no question he is popular now. He captured every girl's heart and caught some boys' eyes. Well, he captured mine. Yes, he did! Some may find it funny! Lolz! I wasn't really part of the "Bieber Fever", there were just some moments I found myself smiling while watching him or listening to his song. And honestly, I was one of those people who first discovered his videos on youtube. That time, I was surfing some cute little boys who know how to play drums. Out of nowhere, I saw this little Justin Bieber who's so good at drums. I even posted the link on Friendster's billboard. See?! I started to fancy him since Friendster days. Kiddin' aside! I used to love Justin Bieber not until I watched the video. I felt sorry for the father and his kids. If he'd reason out his sickness, that's unacceptable! He could ignore the man. But unmanneredly tapping one's hand is not good. That's a rude action. If that would happen to my own father, I might cursed him. Really...

He has tons of Filipino supporters. I was expecting him to be down-to-earth, just like Taylor Swift and Usher who also had their concert in Manila. Unfortunately, he was too cold and unfriendly to his fans. He could smile at everyone while walking along the airport. A sick man can smile, right? No doctor would prohibit him to smile. OMG!

On the other hand, we could say that he was just really sick, tired, and jetlagged... or perhaps temperature in the Philippines affected his mood. What do you think? Lolz! Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. But I wish he showed my fellow Filipinos some warmth, even a smile would do.

Oh Justin Bieber! I hope you won't let fame go to your head. Needless to say, I will still listen to his songs and watch the music videos. Yeah! How ironic! :D

Mom, without you, there would be no me.

She carried you in her womb for 9 months. She nurtures you with love and care. Giving a good life to you is her sole intent. And she is none other than... your mom!

Do you still remember when you were a kid, she kissed those bulgy cheeks of yours every morning and cooked healthy breakfast for you? It felt so good, right?! Well as we grow up, things change. We become independent and do things on our own. Mom stops to kiss us and we start to prepare our own breakfast. But still, it feels so good to wake up in the morning and knowing that you have this woman in your life. She may stop pampering us, but she will always be right beside us no matter what.

A mom automatically becomes superwoman when it comes to her kids. She is so powerful and magical who can play different roles for us. She is known to be our first teacher and will always be one. She is the greatest chef whenever she cooks food for us.  A policewoman she is if someone else bullies or attacks us. You might see your mom in a white medical gown and a stethoscope around her neck as she becomes a doctor when we are sick. Mother can turn into an accountant every time she gives our allowance. Haha! Our #1 fan because she admires and believes in our endowment. And of course, she is our best friend whom we can talk things/problems over with and sure gives us the best advice. Remember, mother knows best! =)

Papa, Mama, Irah, Me

Arguing with mom inevitably happens. We sometimes become impolite and say something rude to her, especially if she is against our decision or action. But at the end of the day, we realize that she just wants good things for us. What matters to her is that we are always safe. We have failed her several times yet she is still there to support us. When we fall down, she is ready to help us stand again.

How sweet it is to be loved by mom! Her love is unconditional that you cannot compare to anyone's love. She loves not only her kids but everyone. No matter how old we are and no matter what we do, mama loves us the same way she did when we first came to life.

It is Mother's Day today. Join me in saluting all beautiful moms in the world!
