A Retrospective of 2010

Every start of a new year, it feels so good to reminisce all the things that happened in the previous year. We may remember the felicity we felt or the heavy heart we bore. But as we recall every piece of moment, we would come to full realization... Realization of how blessed we are by the greatness of God.

Last year, I did the same thing too. I made a blog about how 2009 was for me, entitled "God made my 2009 a blissful year!!!". Click the link if you want to have a glance at it! :)

Now that it is year of the rabbit, I wanna do it AGAIN! I'll be a rabbit for a moment as I hop backward to see what had happened to me on the year of the tiger. :D

P.S. This is a photo heavy blog post. :D

Let's start!

January:
  • Celebrated New Year along the street with my relatives and neighbors. A street party to be exact!
  • Daryl's mom, dad, and his lil sis went to our house. My aunts and uncles met them. We went to Cavite afterwards.
  • A heartbreaking revelation about [name deleted]'s lifestyle. :-(
  • Daryl's birthday!

February:
  • ABMC-1A's very first escapade at Palm Garden Resort. It was a victory party for they won the 1st prize in CELAS Got Talent during CELAS day.
  • Valentines Day was great coz I spent it with Daryl, my then-boyfie, who gave me big big balloons and a huge card. Just the sweetest and cutest! :) We ate at fine-dining resto afterwhich.
  • Club Royale Resort on the 26th of this month.
  • The month, my cousins (Kuya Erick, Kuya Jun, Francis, Kuya Junior) flew to Saudi Arabia. They're working in Jeddah now.
  • Raiza's 18th birthday. Vuenavir, Jeric, Marianne, Rhian, and I attended the party then we proceeded to Klub Bossa. This was Avi's first overnight-experience wherein she also lost 500 peso bill. Too bad Amelia dint make it. :(

March:
  • Finals in school.
  • My 2nd stage play in our university, Vertigo. This play was very challenging for ABMC-2A. We poured all our pep and moolah here. :D
  • Tita Carol and her family arrived from USA. It's good to see them again, especially my 2 cute cousins, Neil and Lenard. They also had a chance to meet Daryl. :)

April:
  • Swimming at Jed's Island Resort, a treat from Tita Carol.
  • Semestral break! Hence, it's time for me to fly back to Riyadh and be with my family. Tita Carol organized a despidida party for me.
  • Tito Mondong, Darang Pina, and Daryl accompanied me to NAIA.
  • Hello Riyadh! :) It's good to be back!
  • Shopping spree and food binge with my family. Lolz!
  • Visited my Alma Mater, Riyadh International School, with some of my batchmates.
  • My mom bought me a pink netbook. So now I do have a laptop and a netbook on my hands. :)
  • Seifeldheen's 1st birthday.

May:
  • I went back to the Philippines with my family. They took their vacation here as well. However, they weren't able to see Tita Carol anymore 'coz  prior to that they flew back to States.
  • This was the best summer for me. <3
  • Happy 3rd anniversary to Daryl and me. I used this line "3 years down and a lifetime to go".
  • Shopping and resto-hopping
  • Roamed around the city and province.
  • My family threw a birthday party for Seifeldheen. Theme: Cars.
  • We attended Precious Ann's 18th birthday. She's my batchmate, kidd, and bestfriend. :)
  • Enrollment and preparation for 1st semester.
  • Within the same month, my mom, dad, and Irah went back to Riyadh. Just so sad! :(
  • Ate Yayah's birthday.

June:
  • My Ate Yayah, Kuya Sai and my 2 nephews flew to Riyadh.
  • 1st semester of school year 2010-2011 and still a 2nd year college student. Sorry for being an irregular student. Hahaha...
  • Tremendous schedule! I had a 6 hour vacancy every monday. Thank God, I had Kate with me. OMG! During this semester, we dint know were to stay and how to spend that 6 hour break time.
  • My first time to sleep inside the library.
  • Different classmates again: Accounting, HRM, Marketing, and Finance students.
  • Went to CEU Mendiola which was my first time. A convocation!
  • A morning pub crawl at 'D Avenue with Kate and Lyka. We opted to hangout to fill our 6-hour vacancy.
  • Fiesta in Apalit. We went to Roan's.
  • Had a chance to be with Joseph, Alyanna, and Jek at Trinoma and Music 21.
  • War - Some of my boy classmates called me "beotch". I didn't know anything about this at first. I just learned it from my classmates who had a great concern for me. This had become a big issue between my family and my classmates. Ma'am Bernardo tried to settle this, but Gelo (one of the culprit) chose to talk to our dean. OF COURSE, I was the victim and for that, Dean Roces favored me and concurrently pacified us. :-)
  • Jeric, my bestfriend, went to Japan to fix their permanent resident visa. Everyone felt sad. :(

July:
  • A date with Daryl.
  • Kate's 19th birthday was spent at Trinoma and Music 21.
  • ABMC-2A's Variety Show, entitled "The Best of ABMC-2A".
  • School was prepping for Sports Fest.
  • Mom's brithday.

August:
  • The most surprising and overwhelming month for me this year 2010.
  • My birthday's on the 2nd. On the 1st day, I was already receiving birthday greetings from a lot of people via facebook, text messages, and in person.
  • A birthday treat for my ABMC-2A classmates in McDonald's.
  • Kate, Jesusa, Lyka, Norman, and Roan threw a surprise birthday party for me at the abode of Lyka's big brother.
  • The least expected happened. My super friends, Rhian, Amelia, Marianne, Vuenavir, and Raiza, surprised me with their gifts. OMG!
  • A wonderful tryst with Daryl. :)
  • Daryl's mom and lil sister came to the Philippines. Another vacation.
  • Went to Enchanted Kingdom with Daryl, Gelay, Kuya Rem, and her girlfriend Chin.
  • Swam at Jed's Island Resort with the magkuya. :D
  • Sports Fest '10. Swing dance with my ABMC-2A and AAT-2A classmates.
  • I treated my super friends in Marquee Mall and just had a road trip. :D

September:
  • Ma'am Bernardo's students watched a theater play directed by Mel Magno. Saw some not-so-popular celebrities like Mikel Ocampos and JC Cuadrado. The play's entitled "Hamlet". It was great!
  • Glenda told me about something written on our freedom board along the school's hallway. He told me his cousin saw this foul words, "Annizah paisa naman", on it. I ignored it, but it bothered me so much.
  • After a week, Lyka saw another message posted on the board and it freaked me out BIG TIME. It stated "Annizah, pakant*t naman". OMG! At the moment I read it, my face and head sweated too much. The posting of lascivious message happened again and I wouldn't disregard it this time. I told my parents about it. They were alarmed for they're away from me. My parents called our deparment's attention. They wrote a letter to our dean containing their concerns. Thank God, our dean has a gentle heart. She made an action right away. We may not recognize who the offender was, but they would do an action regarding the location of freedom board. (Geez! This wasn't good. I was already humiliated by my boy classmates before and it happened again. I dunno why! Honestly, I am not close to any boy in our university nor outside the vicinity. I barely talk to them. I do have boy FRIENDS but they are my high school batchmates. I don't make friends with men coz I have a big respect to my then-boyfriend who gives me respect too. Some people say, being too harsh to and far from boys might be the reason why some would disgrace me. That's why Dean Roces asked me if there's someone who wanted to pursue me and just dumped him. Argh! My parents raised me with values, and I may strongly say that I raised of knowing how to respect the others. Anyway, time to cut the drama! Hahaha... Lolz!)
  • Linggo ng Wika. I joined talumpating handa. There were 12 competitors and fortunately won 2nd place. :-)
  • I was informed that I'd be joining Malolos Private Schools Association, MACIPRISA for short. Ma'am Alvarez would handle me. This was shocking and gratifying at the same time. I just couldn't believe it because I never thought that one day I would represent my university, the Centro Escolar University - Malolos.
  • This month had become exhausting and terrible for me. I had to memorize loads of lines from "New Yorker in Tondo", "Hamlet", and my MACIPRISA piece.
  • PLUS finals' coming!
  • I was jabbering at my mom and Daryl about how pressured I was.
  • Met Daryl twice this month.
  • I made a refrigerated cake for Daryl. Reymond helped me doing it.
  • Daryl's mom, dad, and lil sister went back to Riyadh.
  • Irah, Saifrinzhe, and papa's birthday!

October:
  • Hamlet play. I played as Queen Gertrude.
  • New Yorker in Tondo. Played as Kikay/Francesca.
  • MACIPRISA held at St. Agustin School. Nervousness was running along my veins. Hahaha... I was scared to forget a single word from my piece which was written by my big sister. And.... Hurrah! I bagged the title! I didn't disappoint everyone, especially my university. The gold medal was for them. :)
  • After MACIPRISA, BULPRISA was next. As in Bulacan Private Schools Association. After beating all the private schools in Malolos, it's time for me to beat all the private schools in the whole province. I had a new oratorical piece made by Ma'am Jona Bautista. According to our advisers and handlers, I was supposed to have the gold medal. However, due to the fact that we followed the MACIPRISA rules and regulations, points were deducted on my score. In MACIPRISA, we are required to deliver a 5-minute-speech while in BULPRISA, 3-minute-speech must be delivered. So I exceeded almost 2 minutes. OMG! That was a big deduction. Still I thank God, coz I was on the top 5 and bagged a bronze medal. :)
  • Semestral break was spent in Riyadh. Oh yes! My parents brought me again there for us to be complete on their 29th wedding anniversary. I stayed there for 2 weeks only. And I was surprised to see Seifeldheen walking. :) Last time I saw him, he couldn't walk that longer. :)
  • Shopping spree and food binge again! :D
  • Visited RIS with former schoolmates. 1st day was our school's foundation day. There were also some days that I stayed in FGPIS, my mom's teaching there.
  • CEU brochures were distributed. You can see me there. Lolz! :P

November:
  • Went back to the Philipinnes.
  • Enrollment!
  • Back to school! I got an awesome schedule, had a hard time organizing my sched  at first though. It ended up Friday & Saturday classes only! :D
  • Swimming time at Poracay with Daryl, Rico, Reymond, and Yamada family. :)
  • Decided to go to the gym for workout sessions. I met new friends! :)
  • MassCom 3A met new professors, Ma'am Cecille Suerte-Felipe (Philippine Star writer) and Director Ed Villarante.
  • On our first class with Director Ed, he divided us into 4 groups for the 4 categories (documentary, news, talk show, & feature.) We would compete for the upcoming VideoFest 2011. Luckily, I was added to a group of responsible students.

December:
  • My super friends finally met Daryl. We ate at Gerry's Grill. Daryl's treat! :D
  • CELAS Day. I joined the Amazing Race. Our group was the 2nd runner-up. :)
  • My super fiends and I were able to unwind and bond with each other at Villa Alfredo's.
  • Christmas time. I spent it with my relatives. Click the link below to know more about the happenings during yuletide season. http://annizahcamid.blogspot.com/2010/12/cold-christmas-10.html
  • 3 wonderful days [winks].
  • A photoshoot for Accessorize.

Good times and bad times. Both were obtained during year of the tiger. Some of us may be overjoyed with its outcome. Then congratulations! :) I am happy for that. However, some of us may hate its upshot. Perhaps for them, nothing good came out of it. Well, that is alright! It was just a test for us to become more determined for the approaching years. At least, we have ideas now on how to face challenges.

With that said, every year is special for me, so as 2010. =) There were times that I screwed up, nevertheless I don't regret anything. 'Coz here is 2011 which is a new year and another chance to rectify whatever mistakes I've done. But all in all, I'm happy and blessed with what 2010 gave me, the opportunities, happiness, and chances. So cheers to 2010! =)

2010 is now a part of history. And it wouldn't be that wonderful without these people:

  • my parents, 2 sisters, & 2 nephews
  • Daryl
  • relatives
  • Esponilla family and Daryl's friends
  • Super Friends
  • Circle of Bestfriends Forever and Ever
  • Polaris '07-'08
  • RIS Family
  • CEU family
  • my friends and foes :P
I would like to thank them... from the bottom of my heart.

And of course to Almighty Allah who has been so good to me...
