A Phenomenal Movie Marathon

Spending much time watching movies is not my cup of tea, unless I love the person/people I'd be doing the activity with. Love month came. I pondered that movie marathon would be awesome for love month celebration. And so these were the three flicks I chose:

THE NOTEBOOK
I've been hearing positive feedback regarding this movie since high school. Its story was even narrated by some buddies. Many advised me to see it. It seemed everyone watched it already, except me.  The point that everyone loves "The Notebook", I thought it would be an unforgettable experience if I would watch it with someone special. Many years had passed and I remained a little naive about the movie. The reason behind not watching earlier was I had not yet come across the right person to watch the movie with.

On the love month of 2012, I finally opted to see the movie. Prolly because I wanted to see it before end of the world??? Haha! Kiddin' aside! Of course, it only meant I saw the special person. Yes, the idea was lame and I don't care. :D

Honestly, I already knew how this movie would end. But I didn't anticipate that I would be deeply moved by it. Tears began to tumble at the part where Noah and Allie separated. I felt pain in my head because I tried to control myself from crying. Releasing my emotions would not be a good idea because I would certainly howl my eyes out and wake his sleeping brother up. However, the story was poignant that I really blubbered. Yes, I'm such a shmuck to cry over fabricated story. Haha! The guy sitting beside me was sweetly comforting the inconsolable me. Haha!

After watching, I pictured myself growing in love and old with a certain guy. I asked myself, "Who would that be?". I turned my head slightly and saw the face of this gallant man. I couldn't help myself but smile. I softly whispered to myself "I wanna wake up every morning seeing this face, until it becomes wrinkled."

LETTERS TO JULIET
I am madly, truly, deeply, passionately in love with this flick; from its soundtrack, the memorable quotes to the story itself. As they say, it is an amusing, touching, reassuringly wholesome romantic travelogue of a film that flies by on its way to the inevitable happy ending. This flick proves that love has no expiration date. Nothing and nobody has the power to cease love when it is genuine and pure.

HAPPY FEET 2
This flick turned out to be an ice breaker for all of us. After 2 romantic movies, we viewed "Happy Feet 2". It's so cute. OMG! As I watched it, I missed my 2 nephews and little sister. Erik looks like my 2 nephews. Haha! His sweet voice, the way he walks, and cries... He represents my 2 cutie-patootie nephews. :D

***

I have a long long list of movies I haven't seen yet and planning to see real soon. Some of them are; Love Actually, Ghost, Serendipity, Alvin and the Chipmunks 3, Titanic 2, Notting Hill, and a lot more. I'm still young, I can watch ALL GREAT MOVIES that were published! Haha!

Intention.

The intention was pure.
She was there to confess, not to lie.
She was there to make, not to break.
She was there to help, not to make worse.
She was there to encourage, not to push even more.
She was there to save, not to abandon.
She was there... always there.
When one person would overturn everything,
intention would appear to be mendacious,
no matter how pure it was.
Now, she is ready to drop.

Unofficially Yours

“Sa bawat ISA kasing pinili mo, may ISANG LIBONG bagay kang tinatanggihan. Paano kung pinatunayan sayo ng ISANG pinili mo na higit pa siya sa ISANG LIBONG tinanggihan mo?” -Mackie Galvez (John Lloyd Cruz)

THE MOVIE
I rarely watch Filipino film but when I saw the teaser/trailer of this, it captured my attention. Initial impression was, this movie surely imitates the English movies "Friends with Benefits" and "No Strings Attached" which I viewed both before. Curiosity struck that I just saw myself sitting next to my bestfriends and watching it on the big screen.

I don't wanna sound like a MassComm practitioner and do a movie critique here. Lemme just specify my observation. The leading characters (John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin). Honestly, I began to appreciate the two actors through this film. They used to be so-who-cares actors in my eyes. Until I saw their lifelike performance. I started to admire Angel, especially her glass-hour-like figure, and have an eye for John Lloyd. OMG! His humor and killer smile make him look so HOT! I just died! :)))

Its story is way better than the two English movies I mentioned. Watch the 3 to know what I talk about.

FRIENDS W/ BENEFITS RELATIONSHIP
In this century, "friends with benefits" is described as two friends having a sexual relationship with no emotion involved. I have nothing against men and women who are into this kind of set up. I ain't being hypocrite here. It's just that I cannot imagine myself being in the picture. I don't wanna wake up in the morning and see myself disrespected by people around me, particularly men. Well, I'm just imagining the worst consequence.

As to those people who are in this kind of scenario... You are experiencing fun right now but never forget to imagine the worst scenario. You may find yourself falling in love. Fortunate you are when he/she feels the same way and end up together like Mackie and Cess of "Unofficially Yours". But always remember that feeling might change and feeling might get hurt.

DO RELATIONSHIPS NEED AN OFFICIAL STATUS?
Definitely. Official status is not just a label. It is beyond that. It is knowing your do's and dont's. This is to be aware of your duties and limitations.

One may assume that they are lovers whereas the other party finds it casual and fun. You assume you are THE BOYFRIEND of hers but she then introduced you to her friends as A BOY-FRIEND only. Feeling mo MAGKA-IBIGAN kayo tapos pinakilala ka at sinabing MAGKAIBIGAN lang kayo. How painful could it be?

Unless... you got a mutual understanding. I mean, no words needed. Be it official or unofficial, if your minds understand each other and hearts beat for each other, it doesn't require label then. You may not put your feelings into words but you can always show it.

My Valentine's Day

I HAD NO DATE, but someone made this day out of the ordinary.

I was sleeping soundly. Then all of a sudden, I just woke up. I checked on my phone for a time check. It was 3-ish a.m. and saw these 3 messages. They were from [name deleted] saying he left a thing in front of our house. Messages were sent at 1 am. I rushed out and found these: Sugarhouse cake, 3 tulips, and a heart-shaped balloon. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see and thank him.

Some of you may say it is not super extravagant. But for me, it is. Knowing that this guy put a lot of effort to make my Valentine's day romantic. Not to mention, he drove for 3-4 hours only to give me these stuff.

He never fails to make me happy. He's the sweetest. But this won't take the lost love back. :/

Heart's Day

Love is truly magical. It is so funny to see girls posting pictures of gifts they received on Valentine’s day (i’m one of them) yet so sweet that I couldn’t help but smile. Well, it’s good to know that there is this one significant day where most couples are on good terms and forget heartaches. (and i’m not one of them). Haha! :P

I am a Rich Kid.

Seventh heaven, this is where I am now. Coz I am a RICH KID! I have house, car, gadgets, clothes, shoes, accessories, name it!

Yeah! Nuff with the puff! In point of fact, I am just a typical lady living an ordinary life. But that is not how I see myself.

I believe I am living a life jammed with wonderment and beauty. I feel like I have everything. They may not be extravagant but all good things in the world are in my hands.

Our house is not as big as the mansion located in Alpharetta GA. But at least I have a place to dwell and it is called "home".

I have my personal car that is not as expensive as Jaguar. But at least I have a ride that takes me anytime and anywhere I want to go.

My cellphone is not as high-tech as iPhone 4s. But at least I have a phone to call and message my loved ones.

I got laptop and it is not as modern as Voodoo Envy H: 171. But at least I have something which I use for my studies.

My camera does not give the highest-resolution-photo like Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 does. But at least, it has the capability to capture special moments.

I collect clothes, shoes, accessories, and bags but those are not high-end fashion luxury branded. But at least, I possess things that clothe and doll me up.

I don't regularly consume sumptuous food and drinks. But at least, I consume healthy food and drinks thrice a day.

I don't study in Harvard University. But at least, my university provides me quality education.

Above are not the reasons I call myself "Rich Kid". But these:

My friends and I neither hangout at opulent bars nor spend summer at Boracay. Staying at McDonald's and having chitchats could fasten us firmly together. Gathering place is no big deal for us. What matters is the moment we spend together that contributes a lot to our friendship.

My relatives live a simple life. They are not big time who own big enterprises in the city. They live next to our house. They are my moms, dads, and siblings while I am away from my family.

My family may not be the wealthiest family in town. The life of Riley may not be given to me (and I don't ask for it) yet all beautiful abstract things on earth are being provided by them. They support me in all aspects. If not because of them, I would not feel the true meaning of "unconditional love".

Foolish and shallow people entertain the idea that having expensive and grand things makes a person rich. But people with contented heart believe being rich means being with their precious loved ones.

Material things are merely icing on the cake. People who love and care for you were the greatest gifts you ever had. Material things will eventually get broken whereas your family and friends will forever stand beside you.

This is why and wherefore I call myself "RICH KID". How about you? Are you a rich kid like ME? :)
